Single girls looking for love through online dating sites should represent themselves as sweet, thoughtful or ambitious while men should emphasis their physical fitness, optimism and passion, according to new studies.

Research on over 12,000 profiles on the dating website has found out the best words that members should use when seeking to attract a potential date.

The data show that women representing themselves as sweet, thoughtful or ambitious were luckier to see men who initiate communication with them.

The men who describe some form of their physical fitness, or mentioned themselves as perceptive, optimistic or passionate also saw more responds.

The word ‘funny’ caused interest for both female and male daters.

Also the study revealed that women are much more interested in things that men have to tell for themselves, not only their looks – being much more likely to mean a man focused on his representation rather than his photo.

Words used on profiles were shown to cause a much wider influence on the decision of women to approach rather than they did on men, as the research showed.

Jemima Wade, at eHarmony.co.uk, one of the best international dating sites, said: “While the research shows that certain words work to grab the attention of fellow daters, at eHarmony we understand that daters are searching for quality date every time.”

“And this takes more than only a few words; it is about finding a person with the same valuables, who instantly needs you.”

Men who represented themselves as perceptive or physically fitness attracted between 60% and 70% more interest from the opposite sex who wanted to become familiar with them.

Women who described themselves as they were sweet, funny or ambitious women achieved between 20% and 45% more approaches.
