I had almost given up hope of finding Mr. Right

We’re still blissfully happy

After Christmas with the family, I had almost given up hope of finding Mr. Right. I continued on match.com and sent a message to a guy who seemed nice. He did not drink or smoke, did not have kids, he loved fishing, camping, the country life and 4×4. What more could I ask for?

After a couple of days chatting online and on the phone, we decided to meet and go see the fireworks on the esplanade on New Year’s Eve. We met at Evan’s place where we chatted for a while with the people he lived with before going for a drive to get to know each other better.

We were both a little apprehensive as I had been hurt before and he was looking for something different. We had dinner then went to the early fireworks. We must have both decided to give it a go so we cuddled while watching the fireworks.

The next day and a half we just got to know each other before I had to go home. I left around lunchtime and the next thing I know Evan texted me and said he was on his way up the hill as he was missing me. When he arrived, he met the boys, and then we spent some quality time together. The weekend flew by and before we knew it, we were back at work. Evan would come up the hill on Wednesday and Friday nights and return Thursday and Monday mornings to work.

Evan got me involved in field archery and had bought me a bow. In early January we were reading through a bow hunting magazine when we saw an advertisement for an archery tournament on Norfolk Island. I had been promised a trip to Norfolk Island by my ex husband over the past 20 years but it hadn’t happened. The next thing I know we had booked and paid for our holiday to Norfolk Island.

My divorce was approved the day we flew out to Norfolk Island. We spent a fantastic week looking at the sights, shooting the competition and generally enjoyed each other’s company. At the presentation evening I received a 3rd place and Evan received equal 5th. He had a hard time as he was up against the number 2 in the world so he did well.

Our first Christmas together came and went as did the first anniversary. All things are going as well as they were when we first met. We are still blissfully happy. We have bought a new 4×4 together with a new camper trailer to go behind. In two years time we are planning on packing things up and heading round US for a trip. We have no intention of getting married at this stage, as we are happy the way things are.
