Story How We Met

“Really?! Wow! Oh! Was it Match or E-Harmony? That is the usual response we receive when mention that we’ve met online. Dating online has become quite usual, we know personally three (now four) couples that have met online. Our story isn’t one of those standard online dating stories. Our one is different.

After several failed attempts at dating online, I swore I’d never do this again. That is what I said to my mom. “To all intends and purposes, I will not even talk to men online if I do not know them personally. Well… There exists one man, but he is different. We do not even have the phone talk. We’re just friends. I’m comfortable still communicating with him.”

There is that word “different” again. Eventually we started call each other, but it was regular. His voice was strikingly deep and attractive. Conversation was OK, as it was nothing less or nothing more. Then, something happened. Once, I needed a guy to go to a wedding. And I decided ask him. I found this was maybe the safest option to meet a guy that I’ve never met. And most importantly, I knew I could feel comfortable with this guy as my date. It is weird how actually I knew it, but I did. Honestly, I did not think that he could drive three hours to place I lived to “become” my date, but it was surprising pleasantly for me when he said “Okay”.

Our meeting was just the same I thought it to be. I felt fun and comfortable. Anyway, this was different for me, but still I was not seeing the chances. He did not either.

However, he impressed me with easygoing nature, his sense of humor, nice car, and good job. I was impressed with his clothes too. Nevertheless, in my head he was only my friend. I started to see he was very handsome. Yes, he was good in a career. Yes, he had a convertible Mustang. And I was happy for this, and that is all.

Something has changed my thoughts of him forever

Then, he became my companion to another wedding. This wedding was very nice, but once again anything went as planned. He was a jazz lover, and I took him to “the best jazz spot” in the area. There was a country singer performing that night. We were very hungry. There was no food. It was very crazy day! I noticed that something has changed my thoughts of him forever. Then I noticed he made me calm. He made me happy. He made me laughing. It was the absolute best time we spent together. I thought to myself: “I could receive all these in my life.”

I am so grateful that my husband chose me.
